My friend is attending a wedding on Sunday and she asked me to do her make up. Now this is a feat that I find extremely challenging because a) this girl is terrified of colors (LOL!) b) she doesn't want her eyes accentuated because she says they're too strong as it is c) I love accentuating eyes!
Never the less, I did this look on myself to see if she'd trust me enough to do this on her or freak out half way and have me erase everything and just apply one shade of eyeshadow all over her lids. hahahaha!
starting off with my Pureglow Red Clay Primer, MYRA tinted Moisturizer in beige, and AVON Smooth Mineral Foundation in Sand Beige. |
After lining filling my brows with Nichido Eye Pencil in Black Brown |
After applying NYX Jumbo Eyepencil in Milk all over my lids, inner corner of my eyes and on my lower lash line. To highlight the brow bone, I used Nichido Eyeshadow in Champagne. |
On my lower lids, I applied a the lightest shade of lilac from the Avon Smokey Eye palette. |
This is actually the finished look as I got carried away when I was applying my eyeshadow and couldn't be bothered to take anymore pictures. For my crease, I used the Purple eyeshadow from the same Avon palette and for my outer V, a dark Indigo-ish color from my ULTA shimmery palette. Above the crease up to the brow bone I applied a light mauve color from ULTA. |
I used Borjois Paris' Kohl & Contour Eyeliner pencil in 01 Noir to line my lower and upper water line. For my lash line, I used Fanny Serrano Long Lasting Gel Eyeliner. Maybelline Hypercurl Mascara for my lashes. Lipstick is a Pumpkin Pie by NYX topped off with a little gloss from my ULTA palette. | |
Bronzer is ELF Sunkissed and MAC Dainty for blush. |
There you have it. :)
Important notes:
1.) I foiled my eyeshadow here that's why they look really vibrant. It's the first time I did it actually and I'm really happy with the results. :)
2.) Don't forget to blend, blend, blend to get that perfect hazy look.Harsh lines are a big no no when applying eyeshadow. It'll look really tacky.
3.) Experiment! Go out of your comfort zone and try different colors! It won't kill you! :P
4.) Have fun! Applying make up is all about fun! :)
I'm thinking of doing another look tomorrow just so I have a back up in case my friend freaks out with all the colors of this look. hahaha
Till then, toodles! :-*
